The time for decision in Pakistan has come.
The decision to be made is whether to stand with the “System” which has destroyed the country or with Pakistan.
It must be understood that the two are antithetical to each other.
If the decision is to stand by Pakistan, and the decision is utterly sincere, the PM should not waste any time in advising the President to impose Martial Law in the country for one year. Imran must remain PM in the ensuing dispensation and form a National Government, under which the Army must function under the new regime.
A declaration of ML does not mean deploying the army on the streets, or transferring Majors to act as DCs.
But it must have as one of its purposes to make special military courts to try about 500 people who have brought this country to its knees, and to recover from them looted wealth.
The recovery of this wealth is eminently possible if the will is there. How this can be done is left for a later time to discuss.
The second aim of ML should be to take steps to bring about a significant and immediate improvement in governance.
This is more than possible if the very best, including services of those who are retired, are requisitioned and they are put on duty and empowered.
So, it is time to decide if Pakistan is to live, or is it to die. The issue is clear, and the time is short.
It is to be hoped that for once the decision favours the country. Let the decision be immediate and let it be ruthless.
Don’t lose time. The patient is on life support. And the patient is your country, the hope of your children, and the thousands who have already lost hope.
Do not take the counsel of your fears. You have fretted too long and have been sold out by your fears.
For this once give your hopes the chance to live. For this once be energized to give your country a real chance. Get rid of the malaise of those who have robbed you of everything, and your children even of hope.
