So, who needs a commission to investigate our PM’s shenanigans exposed by the Panama Leaks?

What needs to be done is the following:

  1. Determine from the concerned government offices in London WHEN the Sharif family bought the properties which are daily in the news, and which Hussain Nawaz has proudly admitted to owning.
  2. Determine also, at WHAT price were the said properties bought?
  3. Next, get a copy of the London court order of 1998 [ ??], which ordered all these properties to be attached due to the Sharif family’s default in repayment of a loan against which the said properties were pledged as collateral. Upon receiving the said court order, the Sharif family repaid the subject loan to redeem these properties. This amount of loan repayment will then become known to the investigator, supported by an official document.

ALL this information can be got hold of within one week.

The price paid to purchase the subject properties plus the money paid for the repayment of the loan mentioned above will give the investigator a certain sum of money about which certain questions will have to be asked.

What needs to be determined next is:

  1. From where was this amount sent to the U.K?
  2. Was the method used for the transfer of the subject funds legal?
  3. Did the Sharif family pay taxes on this amount?
  4. Were these foreign assets declared by the Sharif family as required under the law?

Under the relevant NAB law it is NOT for the government prosecutor or the investigator to prove the guilt of the Sharif family. It is for the Sharif family to prove [ if the funds have gone from Pakistan]]:

  1. That the method of transfer of funds was legal.
  2. That the funds were “White” i.e. they were legally earned, and taxes were paid on this income.
  3. That as per law foreign assets were declared by the Sharif family. This trial in NAB court should not take more than two weeks.

So what COMMISSION is Nawaz Sharif talking about, but a commission formed for obfuscation and deception and immunization against his crimes of theft from his country?

And let it be predicted that all political parties will join Nawaz Sharif and give him backing for this commission–all except Imran Khan. This will only go to prove that Pakistani politics is one vast criminal enterprise in which all [or most] of the political parties are partners in crime, under the spirit of the notorious ” Charter of Democracy”. Plunder will yet again be sanctified.

Just as open and shameless is the crime, so shall be equally open and shameless its cover-up and the exoneration of the criminals.
